We are thrilled to share the incredible journey our team embarked on during the climate change hackathon organized by Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) powered by NASSCOM Foundation and Capgemini. Out of numerous participants, we were honored to be among the top 10 finalists in India!

The Hackathon provides an opportunity to win Prizes and Seed Fund up to 10 Lakhs.21 Teams of 72 students from Second Year Engineering of our university were participated in the above Hackathon. From 7,500+ teams that signed up across India, 200 teams were selected for the next round. 8 Teams in the second round. 4 Teams in the third round. In the final round, one Team got one among the Top 10 position in the country.

Team Water Cooler:

- K Manav (AI & DS B)
- P Rahulram (AI & DS B)
- V Prathosh (AI & DS B)
- K Surya Narayan (AI & DS B)
The problem statement focused on addressing the pressing issue of climate change through innovative solutions. The initial three rounds were conducted remotely, where we showcased our skills in data analysis, programming, and problem-solving. Our dedication and passion led us to secure a place in the final round, where we were invited to Hyderabad for an idea presentation.

For the final round, we were tasked with formulating our own problem statement and proposing a startup idea to tackle it. After careful consideration, we identified e-waste management in India as a significant environmental challenge. Particularly, we focused on the adverse effects caused by heavy metals present in electronic waste.

Our startup idea aimed to extract these heavy metals from e-waste, mitigating their harmful impact on the environment and human health. With this solution, we aspired to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future for our country.

Throughout the hackathon, we had the privilege of meeting like-minded individuals who shared our passion for addressing climate change. Collaborative brainstorming sessions brought together a room full of brilliant minds, fostering an atmosphere of excitement, innovation, and camaraderie.

Although we finished 8th in the overall rankings, we were delighted to receive a special mention from the director of the event venue, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge. He was deeply impressed by our idea and expressed a personal connection to the problem statement. His encouraging words and offer to guide us further affirmed the potential impact of our startup idea.

This hackathon has been an incredible learning experience for our team. We have gained invaluable knowledge, honed our technical skills, and recognized the importance of collective action in addressing climate change. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our college for supporting and motivating us to participate in such impactful events.
